Playmaker Juan Mata has said that defending champions Spain must not head to the European Championships in a complacent mood.
The Chelsea man will be hoping to feature in Vincent del Bosque's side when they face Italy in their tournament opener in Gdansk on Sunday.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, the 24-year-old said: "This European Championship will be very difficult, because we are the team to beat for all our rivals.
"It will not be easy to repeat our title win, but this is the challenge.
"A comfortable group does not exist. We start the Euros against Italy and this is a match with much importance."
Spain also face the Republic of Ireland and Croatia in Group C in Poland and Ukraine.
