Spain defender Juanfran has revealed that his team are "convinced" that they will overcome Italy in the last-16 stage of Euro 2016 on Monday night.
La Roja lost their first European Championship finals match since 2004 when they were beaten 2-1 by Croatia on Tuesday night and as a result, Vicente del Bosque's side conceded first position in Group D.
Juanfran, however, has claimed that "too much has been made" of the defeat and insists that the reigning champions are confident ahead of Monday's clash with the Italians.
"In the majority of the three games, we have been the better team. I believe that too much has been made about the defeat. We are convinced that we are going to qualify for the next round. Any opponent that we get in the last 16 will be tough to play," Juanfran told reporters.
Spain qualified from the group stages after taking six points from three matches.
