How Poland could line up against Spain

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Poland could line up in Saturday's Euro 2020 clash with Spain.

Poland will be without the services of Grzegorz Krychowiak for Saturday's Euro 2020 clash with Spain, as the midfielder received a red card in his national side's 2-1 loss to Slovakia on Monday.

Krychowiak picked up a yellow card in the 22nd minute of the Group E contest before being handed a red just past the hour, meaning that there will have to be at least one change to the starting XI.

Head coach Paulo Sousa has the option of dropping Piotr Zielinski into a deeper area and potentially bringing in Karol Swiderski alongside Robert Lewandowski in the final third of the field.

However, it seems more likely that Zielinski will again support Lewandowski, with Jakub Moder coming into a midfield position alongside Karol Linetty and Mateusz Klich.

Sousa will be looking for much more from his wing-backs on Saturday evening, while there will need to be contribution from players other than Lewandowski if they are to progress to the knockout round.

The Bayern Munich striker has scored 66 goals in 120 caps for his country and has netted 59 more times than any other player in the squad, which is an indication of his importance.

Zielinski is the second-highest goalscorer in the squad with seven, while central defender Kamil Glik is third with six.

Poland possible starting lineup: Szczesny; Bereszynski, Glik, Bednarek; Jozwiak, Klich, Moder, Linetty, Rybus; Zielinski, Lewandowski
