Spain attacker Lucas Vazquez has insisted that La Roja want Argentina's Lionel Messi to be fit for Tuesday's international friendly.
Messi travelled with the Argentina squad for their friendly with Italy on Friday night, but played no part in his nation's 2-0 success due to a slight injury concern.
The Barcelona attacker is seen as a doubt for Tuesday's clash between Spain and Argentina, but Real Madrid's Vazquez wants the 30-year-old to take to the field.
"We always want to play against the best players; so if Messi players, then even better," Vazquez told reporters. "It looks like Messi is going to be doubtful right up until the last minute, but Argentina have great players."
Spain continued their preparations for the 2018 World Cup with a 1-1 draw against world champions Germany on Friday night.
