Aritz Aduriz has revealed his delight after marking his Spain return with a goal in Thursday's 1-1 draw with Italy.
The Athletic Bilbao striker initially made his Spain debut in 2010, but had to wait six years to return to the national squad, with his 31 goals for his club this season earning him a recall.
The 35-year-old netted La Roja's equaliser in Thursday's international friendly in Udine and has said that he was "very happy" to return to the set-up.
"I'm very happy to participate in the national team, with these great players. It's just a pity we couldn't win," Aduriz told Cuatro.
"It wasn't an easy game. They know very well what they have to do. It was difficult to create chances. It's easy to get along with these players. They are very good and they make things much easier. We were better in the second half. We didn't press well in the first and they got forward with ease. We were closer in the second. The draw is good."
Spain will continue their preparations for Euro 2016 against Romania on Sunday night.
