Vicente Del Bosque has said that the Premier League has been "vital" to the success of his current Spain side.
The Spaniard is in England to lead his team against Fabio Capello and company on Saturday in a friendly ahead of the European Championships next summer.
Speaking before the match, the former Real Madrid boss insisted that having players that play in England has been a key to their success.
"It's been absolutely vital that we've had such a crop of players play in the Premier League, and young players too," he said.
"I've always said it's been one of the key factors that's helped us achieve our success at international level.
"By travelling abroad and having players in different leagues like the Premier League has enabled us to shed that complex that we always used to have when playing at international level."
Spain, who won the competition under previous manager Luis Aragones in 2008, will be defending their title in Poland and Ukraine.
