Dele Alli 'dreaming' of place in England's Euro 2016 squad

Dele Alli says that he aims to remain grounded and continue learning at Tottenham Hotspur in order to nail down a spot in England's Euro 2016 squad this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has admitted that featuring for England in this summer's European Championships would be a "dream come true".

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a fine maiden season at White Hart Lane, scoring seven times and setting up a further nine to propel his side up to second place in the Premier League.

Alli's club form helped earn him a place in the England squad last November, with a debut strike against France at Wembley only strengthening the argument for the youngster to take his place among the Three Lions' travelling party for Euro 2016.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, the ex-MK Dons star claimed that he still has plenty of learning to do in a Spurs shirt, while also vowing to remain grounded on the back of a campaign to remember thus far.

"I'd love to go, it would be a dream come true but I don't think my place is concrete," he said. "There's a lot of young, hungry players there. It has the same feeling as at Spurs.

"I'm still 19 and I've got a lot to learn, I've got to keep improving and not get too carried away with myself. Thankfully I've got great support around me to keep my feet on the floor.

"It's been a great year for me, but I've just got to keep working hard and hopefully next year will be even better. It's important you stay professional and keep working and I'm thankful for everything that's happened to me."

Alli is among the favourites to be crowned as the PFA Young Player of the Year later this month.
