Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is a major doubt for the new season after suffering a fractured wrist.
Spurs confirmed that the France international sustained the injury "during the close-season", but have not given any further details on the timeline of his recovery.
Lloris was a standout performer for Tottenham in the Premier League last season, producing a string of impressive displays to see his name linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United this summer.
However, any move now appears to be off the cards, as he continues his recovery in the hope of being fit for the season opener against Man United on August 8.
A Spurs statement added: "The France goalkeeper will continue to work alongside the first team squad to build up his fitness in a bid to be ready for the start of the season.
"Our medical team will continue to monitor his rehabilitation and progress during pre-season."
Lloris has made 99 appearances for Spurs since his arrival from Lyon three years ago.
