Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he took off Harry Kane late on against Liverpool as a precaution due to the striker's recent workload.
The England international opened and closed the scoring for the Lilywhites as they punished their sloppy opponents, coming out on top 4-1 at Wembley Stadium.
A positive afternoon for the Lilywhites looked to have had a blemish at the end, however, as star man Kane left the field clutching his hamstring.
Speaking after the match, Pochettino eased concerns of any sort of layoff by telling Sky Sports News: "He's tired, three games in one week and the effort was amazing from him.
"Harry Kane is a fantastic player, one of the best strikers, it's difficult to find words to describe him - he's unbelievable, so professional, the effort when we don't have the ball, everything is fantastic - so professional."
Kane now has 17 goals in 16 games for club and country in 2017-18, each coming since the start of September.
