Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that Victor Wanyama is close to making a return to the first-team squad.
Wanyama has not featured since the second weekend of the season, with Pochettino previously saying that he was unsure over how long the Kenyan midfielder would spend on the sidelines.
However, the Argentine says that Wanyama - as well as defender Toby Alderweireld - is making progress ahead of featuring in the squad in the coming weeks.
The 45-year-old told reporters: "Wanyama is very close because we start to share this week some time with the group. That is so important for the group.
"Toby is doing very well. We are so close to having everyone fit to play together."
Wanyama made a total of 47 appearances in all competitions during his first season at the North London outfit.
