Napoli have reportedly asked manager Carlo Ancelotti to make a decision on the future of Amadou Diawara.
The 21-year-old is highly regarded by the Italian giants, but the player has made just five starts and three substitute outings in Serie A this season.
That has resulted in the Guinea international being linked with a January switch to either Tottenham Hotspur or Wolverhampton Wanderers, and according to Il Mattino, Napoli want to know what Ancelotti has planned for the midfielder.
Napoli are said to be happy with no sales being made at the midway point of the campaign, but it has been claimed that they understand the desire of the player to gain more first-team action.
Ancelotti has allegedly been requested to state his case for keeping Diawara, or allow the prospect to continue his development elsewhere on a temporary basis.
Diawara still has just over two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract.
