New Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has vowed to leave "no stone unturned" in his first message to Spurs supporters since his appointment on a four-year deal.

The former Celtic manager was unveiled as Tottenham's new head coach on Tuesday afternoon in the wake of a treble-winning second campaign with Celtic in 2022-23.

Postecoglou committed himself to the North London club until the summer of 2027 in a serious display of trust from Daniel Levy, who has been without a permanent head coach since Antonio Conte's explosive exit in March.

Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason both failed to inspire a turnaround in fortunes during their temporary stints in the hotseat, as Spurs finished eighth in the Premier League table to miss out on a spot in European football.

Before prising Postecoglou away from Parkhead, Spurs were frustrated in their pursuits of other managerial targets such as Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, Xabi Alonso, Arne Slot and Vincent Kompany, while Mauricio Pochettino turned down a reunion in favour of taking the Chelsea job.

Postecoglou arrives in the English capital with an enviable list of trophies on his CV, though, and the 57-year-old has promised to steer his "fantastic" club in a new direction during his first season in charge.

"Hi everyone, it's great to finally get started as manager of this great football club," Postecoglou told Tottenham's official media channels.

"I'm really looking forward to our task ahead, I think it's an exciting opportunity for us to set off in a new direction, play football and create an environment that embodies the values and traditions of this fantastic football club.

"Hopefully a team you can all be proud of and more importantly get excited by, I can assure you that right through pre-season we won't leave any stone unturned; myself, the staff and the players, to make sure that when the league comes around that you'll all be as excited as I am about the season ahead.

"So I really look forward to seeing everyone at the stadium, in particular at our first home game, and look forward to the journey ahead."

During a successful two-year spell at Celtic, Postecoglou won five of the six trophies available to him, including a Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup treble in 2022-23.

The Athens-born coach previously managed the likes of Australia, South Melbourne, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne and Yokohama F. Marinos, winning the Asian Cup with the former in 2015. body check tags ::
