Ben Davies admits Tottenham Hotspur frustrations

Spurs left-back Ben Davies admits to being frustrated at playing second fiddle to Danny Rose, but believes that he will get his chances to impress.

Ben Davies has revealed his frustrations over a lack of first-team chances with Tottenham Hotspur, but believes that his patience will pay off sooner or later.

The left-back has played only 20 minutes of Premier League football for Spurs this season after a summer move from Swansea City.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has favoured Danny Rose over the 21-year-old so far, but Davies is confident that his professionalism will ultimately earn him chances to impress.

"It would be silly of me to say that it's not sometimes hard and frustrating for me. But you put those feelings aside for the benefit of the club, you can't let them affect your football," he told Sky Sports News.

"As a player you have to be patient if you want to get an opportunity. I could be one of those players who sulks and moans around the place, and takes being left out poorly. My attitude is just to work hard every day and hopefully that will get me in the team.

"Sometimes you do have to keep things inside, and I make sure all those feelings are kept well away from the club and the rest of the squad. If you do have those feelings it is not healthy for the team to bring it out around them."

The Wales international has started all of Tottenham's Capital One Cup and Europa League commitments thus far.
