Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson has declared that he is pleased to have a chance to exact early revenge on Arsenal this season, following their recent wretched run of form at the Emirates.
Spurs have lost their last two matches away to the Gunners by the same scoreline, with Arsene Wenger's men claiming successive 5-2 victories.
Dawson believes that Spurs are capable of putting those disappointments behind them when the two sides meet in only their third match of the new campaign, a North London derby at the Emirates on August 31.
He told the club's official website: "We know what that game means to everyone.
"The Emirates hasn't been great for us recently but that's history now, hopefully we'll go there early in the season and get a positive result."
Andre Villas-Boas's men did triumph in their last meeting with the Gunners, a 2-1 success at White Hart Lane that featured goals from Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon.
Spurs will open the season with another London derby on the road, starting with a trip to newly-promoted Crystal Palace on August 17.
