Jermain Defoe will return to Tottenham Hotspur from MLS side Toronto next week to train.
The 32-year-old, whose long-term future overseas has been questioned, has been linked with moves to Queens Park Rangers and Liverpool.
While the forward's future remains uncertain, Spurs have confirmed that Defoe will train with the development squad next week to "maintain fitness during MLS close-season".
The ex-West Ham United and Portsmouth striker, who has been struggling with injuries, has scored 11 goals in 16 league matches for Toronto.
