New Tottenham Hotspur signing Clint Dempsey has been named in the United States squad for World Cup qualifiers against Jamaica next week.
Dempsey is yet to play competitive football this season after refusing a place in Fulham's squad in order to force through a transfer.
Despite his lack of playing time US boss Jurgen Klinsmann has insisted that he will have no hesitation in starting with Dempsey in both matches.
He said: "We are absolutely open to throwing him in the water right away in Jamaica."
A number of English based players are in the 24-man US squad for the Jamaican double header, including Brad Guzan, Tim Howard and Stoke City pair Geoff Cameron and Maurice Edu.
