Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier has spoken of his anger at referee Mike Jones for failing to punish West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster for time-wasting.
Spurs were held to a frustrating draw against the Baggies at Wembley on Saturday, meaning they drop down to fifth in the Premier League.
Foster was booked in the 82nd minute for deliberately wasting time throughout the tie, but according to Dier the punishment came too late.
"It's up to the ref to stop it early doors with warnings, yellow cards. It makes no sense to wait until the 80th minute. By then it's too late," told reporters after the game.
"He said he doesn't want to be the referee who blows the whistle for someone holding the ball for longer than six seconds because no-one does.
"It's confusing that you would wait until the 80th minute to penalize it when it's been happening from the first minute. It doesn't make sense. It's something I really don't understand."
Spurs face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.
