Christian Eriksen has said that it will be nice to face Gylfi Sigurdsson again when Denmark clash with Iceland on Thursday night.
The former Tottenham Hotspur teammates come up against each other in Herning this evening as Age Hareide kicks off his time as Denmark coach.
Eriksen - still at Tottenham - spent a year playing alongside his fellow midfielder at White Hart Lane, and the 24-year-old is looking forward to the reunion.
"The two countries are close, of course, and it'll be fun to play against Gylfi again," he told Spurs' official website.
"Obviously we've got a new head coach so it's an exciting time for us. He was at Malmo before, he did really well and got them into the Champions League so, of course, he's done really well at the clubs he's been at.
"He was a player himself as well so he knows a lot about football. I'm sure it will be a difficult game against Iceland but we're looking forward to it."
Sigurdsson left the club in 2014 to join current club Swansea City.
