Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane could reportedly miss the opening weekend of the Premier League season against admirers Manchester City.
The England captain has been linked with a move to Pep Guardiola's title-winners throughout the past several weeks, although claims that the Citizens had made a £160m offer were supposedly dismissed as false.
Kane allegedly informed Spurs of his desire to leave in search of silverware at the end of last season, but Daniel Levy is reportedly not prepared to part ways with his captain despite interest from City.
However, whichever club Kane is playing for on August 15 may have to make do without him, as The Telegraph reports that the 27-year-old will not be available for Tottenham's game with Man City following his Euro 2020 exploits.
The report claims that Kane is yet to report back for training after captaining England to the continental final earlier this month, and he will still be building up his fitness when the opening weekend rolls around.
Kane struck four times for England en route to the Euro 2020 final and has found the back of the net on 221 occasions in Tottenham colours. body check tags ::
