Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes has claimed that Harry Redknapp is the only candidate for the vacant England managers position.
Redknapp is currently favourite to replace Fabio Capello after the Italian resigned on Wednesday.
Speaking at Loftus Road, Hughes admitted that he understood why Capello quit after John Terry was stripped of the England captaincy.
"I imagine because the decision was taken away, the position became untenable for him," the former Fulham manager said.
Hughes added that he felt Tottenham Hotspur manager Redknapp was the main candidate for the job.
When asked about Redknapp's current status as favourite for the job, Hughes replied: "There is only one candidate in my mind.
"I'm sure a lot of candidates will put their hand up, British or foreign."
QPR face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Saturday.
