Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane admits that it will take a "very good season" to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title in 2018-19.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has admitted that it would take a "very good season" to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title during the upcoming campaign.

City smashed a host of records on their way to the crown last term, finishing on 100 points and 19 points clear of closest challengers Manchester United.

Spurs, meanwhile, recorded their third successive top-three finish, and Kane insists that his side will be focused on themselves rather than worrying about whether City can replicate such dominance for a second season in a row.

"It will take a very good season [to challenge Manchester City] but we've been up there for the last few years now," Kane told Sky Sports News.

"City had an amazing year last year but the Premier League is tough and it doesn't always happen like that to go year on year so we've just got to focus on ourselves and see what we can do."

Spurs will begin their new campaign against Newcastle United at St James' Park on August 11.
