Former England international Gary Lineker has hailed Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale after achieving a PFA double on Sunday night.
The 23-year-old was named both the Professional Footballers' Association Player and Young Player of the Year at an awards ceremony in central London.
The Welshman, who edged out Luis Suarez and Robin van Persie to the senior prize while being run close by Christian Benteke and Eden Hazard for the youngster award, received praise from his club's former striker.
"Congratulations @GarethBale11 on winning both young and old PFA player of the year awards," Lineker posted on Twitter.
"A superb achievement for a wonderful talent."
Bale is only the third player after Andy Gray and Cristiano Ronaldo to win both Senior and Young PFA Player of the Year in same season.
