Hugo Lloris has admitted that Manchester United caught Tottenham Hotspur by surprise in their 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford last weekend.
Three first-half goals lit up what has been described as United's best performance of the season as the Red Devils claimed three crucial points in the top-four race.
However, goalkeeper and deputy captain Lloris has insisted that Spurs will not give up on their Champions League dreams.
"It's not a game that we expected," he told the club's official website. "We didn't see the Tottenham of this season and we can have regrets after this game because it was an opportunity for us.
"Now we need to keep working and keep our heads high because with nine games left, a lot could happen. We need to be ready and try to win as many games as possible.
"You cannot close your eyes to the first half, you need to have feedback from everyone to see what happened. But we need to stay positive and the players are already thinking about the next game."
Spurs return to action when they host bottom-of-the-table Leicester City at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
