Hugo Lloris has insisted that the France team fully support Karim Benzema and Mathieu Valbuena following allegations of a sex-tape blackmail plot.
Benzema was charged last week in connection to allegations that a group of people tried to extort money from Valbuena by threatening to leak footage of him having sex with his partner.
While the case is ongoing, Benzema is not allowed to contact Valbuena and both players were omitted from the France squad for friendlies against Germany and England.
Despite the controversy, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Lloris has insisted that the team are behind them.
"It is delicate and surprising to see this kind of situation, but they know they have our support and we think of them," FourFourTwo quotes Lloris as saying. "We hope that justice will do the job and especially the situation calms down around this story.
"The non-sport sometimes takes over what may happen on the ground and a little more importance so it is unfortunate. It's a shame but we must live with that."
Benzema faces a five-year prison sentence.
