Denmark coach Martin Olsen has admitted that he is surprised by Christian Eriksen's struggle to get into the Tottenham Hotspur team.
The 22-year-old midfielder has found life difficult at White Hart Lane in recent weeks, completing a full 90 minutes just once in his last six appearances.
Despite Eriksen's limited time on the pitch for Spurs, Olsen has no doubts that the youngster still has plenty to offer.
"Was it a surprise to see him left out? Yes, very much," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "But I accept what my colleague chooses and I don't know what happens in training.
"Nevertheless, when Christian has played he has shown he is a player who can make the difference. He is a creative player and he can play in different positions and Tottenham have used him in different roles."
Eriksen joined Tottenham from Ajax at the start of the season for £11.5m.
