Mauricio Pochettino: 'Adapting to Wembley a big challenge'

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino says that successfully adapting to life at Wembley Stadium will be the equivalent of winning the Premier League title.

Mauricio Pochettino has confessed that Tottenham Hotspur face a "big challenge" improving on last season's second-place finish as they prepare for life away from White Hart Lane.

The Lilywhites will spend the 2017-18 campaign at Wembley Stadium while work on their new state-of-the-art ground continues, beginning with a London derby showdown against Chelsea on August 20.

Spurs boss Pochettino believes that adapting to their new surroundings is a 'title-winning challenge' in itself for his players, but is still hopeful that they can succeed in their mission of going one better and winning the Premier League this time around.

"We have a really big challenge this season, because it's not only to fight with the big clubs to try and win [the title] again, but the other thing is try to make Wembley our home," he told talkSPORT. "That's a big challenge for us - similar to winning a title.

"To make Wembley home and change the fans' perception and feel in the end that Wembley can help us to be better and achieve our dream - it's a big, big job. But we're working on that and hopefully in the end everyone will feel that Wembley is our home."

Tottenham have a disappointing past record at the national stadium, winning just two of their last 10 competitive matches there.
