Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino admits that a win over Liverpool at Anfield would be "massive" in their bid to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has acknowledged that a win over Liverpool at Anfield could work wonders for their season.

Spurs have spent the last month outside of the top four in the Premier League table, but Wednesday's 2-0 win over Manchester United has taken Pochettino's side to within five points of second place.

The North London outfit face Liverpool and Arsenal in their next two league games, and Pochettino has admitted that his team are going through an important period of their campaign.

At a press conference, the 45-year-old told reporters: "It will be massive for us to win, we know very well it will be important because we have ahead a very important period, with the FA Cup on Wednesday and then derby with Arsenal and then we start the Champions League against Juventus.

"For the confidence and for everything that you need to arrive in the key competitions it is important to win against Liverpool to give the team a massive boost."

Spurs will move above Liverpool in the standings if they can record three points on Merseyside.
