Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has acknowledged that Christian Eriksen may require a rest after a hectic start to the campaign.
While Eriksen has made 18 starts for Spurs in all competitions, the playmaker has also played a leading role in helping Denmark reach next summer's World Cup Finals.
Eriksen has only contributed four goals and three assists for the North London outfit this season, and Pochettino has admitted that one of his star men may be "mentally" tired.
The 45-year-old told reporters: "You know, a player like Christian Eriksen maybe can be a little bit tired - but mental more than physical, because in the last international duty he played two amazing games to try to qualify for the World Cup, and he cannot rest, he cannot stop.
"Maybe he struggles a little bit but his condition is fantastic because after every game the stats are unbelievable from him, but maybe I can agree that there may be some mental tiredness. It's maybe possible. But other players? I think no."
Eriksen has not scored or set up a goal in the Premier League since October 14.
