Gylfi Sigurdsson backs Tottenham Hotspur to finish in the top four despite losing their last two league games.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has insisted that his side still expect to finish in the top four and secure Champions League qualification.

A recent dip in form has seen Spurs lose their last three games in all competitions, including Sunday's 1-0 home defeat to Fulham.

Arsenal have taken advantage to cut the gap between the two sides to four points, with the Gunners also having a game in hand.

Sigurdsson believes that Spurs are more than capable of finishing the job of returning to Europe's elite club competition next season, despite the below-par display against Fulham.

He told The Mirror: "We won't start doubting ourselves. Even though we've had a couple of bad results, the lads can pick themselves up. We've got the determination to get into the Champions League.

"We showed during the season that we are more than capable. It's down to us now and we've just got to make sure we're playing the way we've been playing throughout the season.

"We have done that well this season, it is in our hands and we are in a good position to make sure we get the Champions League spot."

Andre Villas-Boas's side travel to Swansea City when the Premier League programme resumes on Saturday, March 30.
