Redknapp emerged as a frontrunner to take over the England job following the resignation of Fabio Capello.
The former Portsmouth boss has 17 months left on his current £3m-a-year contract, and Tottenham will be looking for a compensation fee of £5m if the FA approach Redknapp, according to The Mirror.
England Under-21s manager Stuart Pearce will take temporary charge of England for their friendly with Holland on February 29.
