The 34-year-old's contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is due to expire next June, and the France international is believed to be considering seeking pastures new ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

According to The Independent, Spurs are drawing up a shortlist of possible replacements, and the North London outfit are considering a move for Villa's Martinez.

The Argentina international has impressed for Dean Smith's side since arriving from Arsenal in September 2020, penning a four-year contract with the club.

The 29-year-old has made 46 appearances for Villa in all competitions, keeping 18 clean sheets in the process.
