Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend has warned his side they will have to battle hard to earn a victory in their Premier League clash against Newcastle United on Sunday.
The Magpies recorded their first win of the season in the top flight last week, but still reside in the bottom three.
However, England international Townsend believes that league position will count for very little at White Hart Lane.
"Newcastle are going to be battling for the points," Townsend told the club's official website. "Look at QPR – they're a couple of points behind Newcastle but they played against Liverpool, who are in the Champions League, on Sunday and almost got a point.
"It doesn't matter who you're playing, you always know it's going to be a difficult match and you have to be at your best on the day to get the three points."
Townsend has only made three substitute appearances for Spurs in the Premier League this campaign.
