Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has stated that he is "happy" with the club's signing of Toby Alderweireld.
The 26-year-old has moved to Spurs on a long-term deal from Atletico Madrid.
Vertonghen, who currently plays with Alderweireld for Belgium and also previously played with him at Ajax, says that he is looking forward to teaming up with his compatriot again.
"A warm welcome to him, and another good player so it's good for the club," Vertonghen told Sky Sports News.
"He's a good player so he's welcome. I'm happy he's there and another [player] from Belgium, so that's good."
Alderweireld will also join Belgians Moussa Dembele and Nacer Chadli at White Hart Lane.
