Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks has admitted that being called into the England squad has made him the "proudest" that he has ever felt in his career.
The 21-year-old was welcomed into the Three Lions squad by manager Gareth Southgate as a result of Fabian Delph and Phil Jones withdrawing.
Winks, who has made seven appearances in all competitions for Tottenham so far this season, will now be in the squad for World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Lithuania.
After his call-up was announced, the young midfielder tweeted: "Most amazing honour being called into the @England senior squad proudest moment of my career."
Winks has been part of the Tottenham fold since 2000.
