Harry Kane returned to top form with a hat-trick as Tottenham Hotspur thrashed Bournemouth 5-1 at Dean Court.

Matt Ritchie opened the scoring for the hosts in the first minute of the match, but they could not prevent Spurs from extending their unbeaten Premier League run to nine games as Mousa Dembele and Erik Lamela also found the net in an emphatic win.

BOURNEMOUTH

Goal

Artur Boruc: Committed errors to gift Spurs three of their goals. Poor throughout the evening as he took risks and failed to take easy catches. Fortunate not to give away a second penalty, too. A shockingly poor performance. (1/10)

Defence

Simon Francis: Fear of leaving a vulnerable defence exposed was probably behind his reluctance to offer an option out wide. Rarely beaten by players, but uncomfortable when Christian Eriksen drifted inside. (6/10)

Steve Cook: Hesitated on the ball far too many times. Dragged out of position by Harry Kane's movement as he struggled to keep the England striker close to him. (4/10)

Sylvain Distin: Signed to bring experience to the squad, but it was a disappointing display from the veteran. Looked uncomfortable being asked to build play from the back and struggled to pick up the right player at times. (5/10)

Charlie Daniels: Bright early on when he pushed Kyle Walker back with some good runs forward. Lacked the final product with his crossing, but battled admirably throughout the game. (6/10)

Midfield

Andrew Surman: One of the biggest victims of some excellent pressing by Spurs. Caught in possession far too many times as he struggled to match the energy of the visiting midfield. (4/10)

Dan Gosling: Bournemouth needed a calmer head on the ball. Showed a desire to fight when Spurs dominated, but he was wasteful on the ball in midfield. (5/10)

Matt Ritchie: The home side's best player by a distance. Started the game with a fine finish to open the scoring and asked plenty of questions with his clever footwork and impressive crossing. (7/10)

Marc Pugh: Always kept on the fringes of the game. Bournemouth favoured the opposite side of midfield as they looked to find Ritchie regularly, and he was unable to make an impact. (5/10)

Attack

Josh King: It could have been a very different game had he taken either of his chances. Headed a good opportunity wide and struck the post with a low effort. Bournemouth needed him to offer more without the ball. (5/10)

Glenn Murray: Difficult to be too critical of the striker. Never really had a chance of troubling Hugo Lloris. Battled well and dropped deeper to get involved with the midfield. (6/10)

Substitutes

Eunan O'Kane: Asked to operate in the area just behind the striker, but it was 4-1 just moments after he came on and the game passed him by. (5/10)

Yann Kermorgant: Worked hard in an attempt to make an impact, but the service to him was almost non-existent. (5/10)

Adam Smith: Introduced on the left wing against his former side and played a role in preventing Spurs from continuing to run riot on the wing. (6/10)

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Goal

Hugo Lloris: A solid afternoon for the captain. Not given a chance to stop the goal by Ritchie, but cleaned up loose balls and his distribution was good. (6/10)

Defence

Kyle Walker: He can often be frustrating on the ball, but it was a no-thrills display from the full-back. Retained possession well and provided a good option on the wing before being taken off in the second half. (6/10)

Jan Vertonghen: Forming a reliable central defensive partnership with his teammate. Picked his teammates out whenever possible but refused to take any risks in dangerous areas. (7/10)

Toby Alderweireld: Quietly proving to be one of the best signings of the season so far. Composed on the ball and hard in the tackle as he led the defence's recovery after the early setback. (7/10)

Danny Rose: Troubled by Ritchie and picked up a booking in his attempts to keep tabs on the winger. A good option at the other end with his pace and eagerness to get to the byline. (6/10)

Midfield

Eric Dier: His days as a central defender are surely over. Another excellent display as the protector of defence. Halted the Bournemouth midfield on a regular basis and never wasted possession. (8/10)

Dele Alli: Showed maturity beyond his years. His creativity is a huge asset to the Spurs midfield, but his manager will be most happy with how he pressed the hosts when Spurs did not have the ball. (8/10)

Erik Lamela: Perhaps was not given the same platform to shine as some of his teammates, but his improvement continued as he drifted in from the wing to link play well and he showed good attacking instinct to score when Boruc fumbled the ball. (7/10)

Mousa Dembele: Certainly one of the best players on the pitch before being removed with just over 20 minutes remaining. His quality has always been clear, and he followed up last week's display with another performance full of clever passing and strong defensive work off the ball. Took his goal well, too. (8/10)

Christian Eriksen: Appeared to relish the challenge of playing on the left of the attacking trio behind Kane. Played a key part in the equaliser as his pass encouraged Boruc to come off his line and his inch-perfect cross for Kane's second goal was one of the highlights of the game. (7/10)

Attack

Harry Kane: It felt like a flashback to last season from the England striker. Offered a good option off the ball as he has done throughout the campaign, but his cutting edge returned as he followed a penalty with two poacher's goals from close. A constant threat to the Bournemouth defence with his eagerness to drop deep before running at the hosts. (9/10)

Substitutes

Ryan Mason: Returned from injury as a replacement for Dembele and he settled down quickly to join his teammates in persisting with the high press. (6/10)

Kieran Tripper: Made his first league appearance for the club and kept it neat and tidy in the closing stages. (5/10)

Clinton Njie: Threatened to score seconds after coming on when he raced clear to force Boruc into save as his pace offered a different outlet. (5/10)
