Tottenham Hotspur beat Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park to claim fifth spot on the final day of the Premier League season.

Harry Kane scored the only goal of the game with a header in the first half as the visitors secured a place in the group stage of the Europa League.

Below, Sports Mole takes a look at who impressed in the final 90 minutes of the campaign.

EVERTON

Goal

Tim Howard: Unable to get close to Kane's header, but made a couple of decent saves to prevent Spurs from going further ahead in the first half. (6/10)

Defence

Seamus Coleman: Prevented from attacking Bentaleb as much as he would have liked with Spurs forcing the hosts inside for much of the match. (6/10)

Phil Jagielka: Everton's best player. Made an impact with a couple of vital blocks to deny Kane in the first half when the hosts were struggling to relieve pressure. (7/10)

John Stones: Never looked sure whether to come forward to confront Eriksen, but he continues to perform solidly next to his experienced partner. (6/10)

Brendan Galloway: Struggled on his first Goodison Park appearance. Looked uncomfortable when Spurs were attacking at pace in the first half, but threatened when he got forward. (5/10)

Midfield

James McCarthy: Often manages to dictate the tempo of Everton's matches without grabbing headlines, but Mason's energy troubled him for long spells. (6/10)

Gareth Barry: Another victim of Tottenham's energy and hard work in midfield. Made a bigger impact in the second half, but not his best afternoon. (5/10)

Ross Barkley: It was a game Barkley will want to forget quickly before he meets up with the rest of the England squad. Sloppy in possession and almost gifted Spurs a goal before coming off at the break. (4/10)

Leon Osman: Drifted in and out of the game but he used the ball well when Everton pushed Spurs back in the early stages of the second half. (6/10)

Kevin Mirallas: A very frustrating performance from the Belgian. Lively enough to get involved on a regular basis, but his end product was poor and he wasted a number of good opportunities to create chances for teammates. (5/10)

Attack

Romelu Lukaku: Finishes the season with just 10 league goals, and this type of performance has been too regular this season. Marked out of the game by Vertonghen and Fazio. (5/10)

Substitutes

Muhamed Besic: Replaced Barkley at the interval and almost scored a fine goal from 25 yards. Positive in possession when Everton asked more questions. (6/10)

Steven Naismith: Perhaps unfortunate to find himself on the bench once again, but he couldn't make an impact as a late substitute. (5/10)

Sylvain Distin: Given a great reception by the fans on his final appearance for the club. Neat and tidy on the ball in the final few minutes. (5/10)

SPURS

Goal

Hugo Lloris: Spurs supporters will be hoping the Frenchman is still at the club when the new season begins in August. Made a couple of fine saves to protect the lead before the break. (7/10)

Defence

Eric Dier: Displayed signs of improvement in recent weeks and enjoyed a good afternoon at the office. Provided an excellent cross for the winner. (7/10)

Federico Fazio: It's been a mixed bag for the defender in his debut season, but he performed impressively to prevent Romelu Lukaku from making an impact. (7/10)

Jan Vertonghen: A superb display from the Belgian. Led the defence impressively to play a key role in keeping a clean sheet and he was always willing to come forward to approach Everton's attacking midfielder. (8/10)

Nabil Bentaleb: The Algerian has deservedly received praise for his performances in midfield since breaking into the side, but he did a fine job of filling in at left-back with Danny Rose and Ben Davies out of action. (7/10)

Midfield

Mousa Dembele: His defensive skills might not be the strongest, but he did a decent job in midfield before being removed from the action early in the second half. (6/10)

Ryan Mason: The midfielder has earned his manager's trust over the course of his breakthrough season, and he delivered another energetic performance to ensure Spurs won the important battle. (7/10)

Nacer Chadli: Worked hard at both ends of the pitch to ensure that Bentaleb was never left exposed in an unfamiliar position. Lively on the ball further up the pitch, despite struggling to find chances. (7/10)

Erik Lamela: Started brightly before drifting out of the game in the second half. Continues to improve under the guidance of a manager who has a lot of faith in him and he was always willing to do his fair share of defending. (6/10)

Christian Eriksen: It's not always been easy for the Dane in the second half of the campaign, but his creativity in the final third of the pitch allowed Spurs to control the game early on. A constant threat to the Everton defence. (8/10)

Attack

Harry Kane: The England international has played better in a stunning season, but his work-rate was a huge help to the visitors and he battled impressively against Everton's defenders. Made the difference with his first-half winner. (7/10)

Substitutes

Benjamin Stambouli: Replaced Dembele early in the second half and provided a better defensive option for the visitors to keep things tight in front of the back four. (6/10)

Andros Townsend: Given just over five minutes, but he struggled to get on the ball in the closing stages. (5/10)

Roberto Soldado: Possibly his last appearance in a Spurs shirt, but he was unable to get a kick after being sent on in stoppage time. (4/10)
