Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace were both unable to break the deadlock as their Premier League match finished goalless this afternoon.

Spurs came closest to scoring when Roberto Soldado fired wide, while Jason Puncheon had the visitors' best effort, with a powerful strike that crashed against the bar.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR:

Goal

Hugo Lloris: The Frenchman had a great game in goal and made some vital saves. His best stop was to keep out Dann's header that looked destined for the bottom corner before his intervention. (8/10)

Defence

Eric Dier: Had a tough afternoon against the pace and trickery of Bolasie. He almost cost his team a point late on, when he gave away a dreadful corner that resulted in Puncheon hitting the bar. (5/10)

Federico Fazio: Dependable performance at the back from the Argentine, who was solid in the challenge and always looked strong in the air. (7/10)

Jan Vertonghen: The Belgian gave a reliable display and did well to help repel the pressure that his team came under in the closing stages. (6/10)

Ben Davies: In the first half he found it hard to keep up with Zaha, who constantly beat him for pace, but he gradually improved as the game wore on. (6/10)

Midfield

Erik Lamela: Poor outing for the Argentine. Misplaced a number of passes and was substituted at half time. (5/10)

Christian Eriksen: Looked one of Tottenham's brightest sparks and had two decent attempts on goal in the first half. He was unable to get into the match after the break and was the only player to pick up a card. (6/10)

Ryan Mason: Did not have a bad game in the centre of the midfield, but his passing in the final third let him down. Was replaced by Paulinho just past the hour mark. (6/10)

Nabil Bentaleb: Used possession well, but struggled to really impose himself on the match. (6/10)

Attack

Roberto Soldado: The Spaniard has struggled at Spurs and this afternoon was no different. He missed his side's biggest chance of the match and put further efforts wide in a largely lethargic display. (5/10)

Harry Kane: Was unable to make a real impact in the final third. He did work hard for his team, but a chance never fell his way. (6/10)

Substitutes

Nacer Chadli: Came on at half time, but was unable to really get into the match. (5/10)

Paulinho: Had a decent attempt blocked late on and played some neat passes. (6/10)

Aaron Lennon: Was only on for the final seven minutes and did not see much of the ball. (5/10)

CRYSTAL PALACE:

Goal

Julian Speroni: Saved a free kick from Eriksen in the first half, but was largely untroubled by a poor Spurs attack. (6/10)

Defence

Joel Ward: Had a decent game at the back and was never caused too many problems. (7/10)

Brede Hangeland: Towering performance from the Norwegian, who provided a reliable display at the back. (7/10)

Scott Dann: The defender made an error that cost his side against Aston Villa in midweek, but he made up for that with a commanding performance today. He made several vital blocks and interceptions, and almost scored with a powerful header. (8/10)

Martin Kelly: Another Palace defender who enjoyed a solid afternoon. He was not overly troubled and always used the ball well. (7/10)

Midfield

Mile Jedinak: The Palace captain had an influential game in the heart of the midfield. He barely misplaced a pass and came close to scoring with a low shot in the first half. (7/10)

James McArthur: Hardworking display from the Scot. Battled well in the midfield and was good in possession. (7/10)

Joe Ledley: The Welshman produced an energetic and positive showing. He came close with a couple of efforts in each half and linked up well with his side's attack. (7/10)

Attack

Wilfried Zaha: Had an impressive start to the match and gave Davies plenty of problems. Always looked to test out the full-back and use his pace. He put in a number of good crosses, before he was replaced by Puncheon midway through the second half. (7/10)

Yannick Bolasie: Probably the best player on the pitch. His direct running and trickery caused Tottenham no end of problems and he created a host of goalscoring opportunities for his teammates. (8/10)

Marouane Chamakh: Led the line well, but struggled on his own against Tottenham's centre-backs. (6/10)

Substitutes

Jason Puncheon: The midfielder was a constant menace after arriving from the bench. He almost snatched the three points with a fine strike against the bar, and was unlucky to have an effort ruled out for offside moments later. (7/10)
