Tottenham Hotspur leapfrogged Everton in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over the Toffees at White Hart Lane this evening.

Kevin Mirallas put the visitors ahead with a fine curling effort, but Spurs were in front by half time thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen and Roberto Soldado.

SPURS

Goal

Hugo Lloris: Could do nothing about Mirallas's wonderful goal, but solid and faultless. (6/10)

Defence

Vlad Chiriches: Chosen to play ahead of Eric Dier at right-back and didn't look quite comfortable out wide. Came off injured with 20 minutes left. (5/10)

Federico Fazio: No-nonsense from the Argentinian, but lucky to get away with a 90th-minute handball in the box. (7/10)

Jan Vertonghen: Dominant in the air and also made some key tackles. (8/10)

Ben Davies: Had plenty to deal with down the Everton right but defended the marauding Seamus Coleman well. (7/10)

Midfield

Aaron Lennon: Pretty quiet, but did provide the perfectly-weighted pass for the second goal. Replaced on the hour mark. (6/10)

Ryan Mason Solid alongside Bentaleb in the middle. Had a tough afternoon trying to mark Ross Barkley. (6/10)

Nabil Bentaleb: A presence in the middle, but fairly innocuous. No mistakes. (6/10)

Christian Eriksen: A little lucky with his finish that he hit into the turf, but another important goal for his side. (7/10)

Attack

Harry Kane: The man of the match. Played big parts in both goals and was a tireless runner all game long. Breathing heavily at the final whistle after a big, big effort. (8/10)

Roberto Soldado: A goal, at last, for the Spaniard with a composed finish, but he also wasted a great chance when gifted the ball with just Howard to beat. Taken off with 10 left. (6/10)

Substitutes

Erik Lamela: Replaced Lennon and had very little impact. Perhaps lucky not to be sent off after some nasty tackles on Baines. (4/10)

Eric Dier: Came on for the injured Chiriches. The bulk of Everton's attacks went down the other wing. (6/10)

Paulinho: Took Soldado's place and was positive in the middle. (6/10)

EVERTON

Goal

Tim Howard: Palmed Kane's shot straight to Eriksen for the opener and then committed maybe a little early for the second. (4/10)

Defence

Seamus Coleman: Always willing to get forward down the right. (7/10)

Phil Jagielka: Made some crucial tackles to prevent Spurs getting any more. (7/10)

Sylvain Distin: Won everything in the air. (7/10)

Leighton Baines: The ball went down the Everton right a lot more than the left. Not involved as much as Coleman. (6/10)

Midfield

Muhamed Besic: Made plenty of tackles in the middle, but almost gave away a goal with a careless header back. (6/10)

Gareth Barry: Passed the ball well enough, but dispossessed for the second. (5/10)

Kevin Mirallas: Started really brightly and put the visitors ahead with a fine, fine goal. Faded, though, and taken off with half an hour to go. (7/10)

Samuel Eto'o: Barely noticeable playing in behind Lukaku. Removed with Mirallas. (5/10)

Ross Barkley: The brightest Everton player going forward. Plenty of neat footwork and dribbling, but couldn't quite unlock the Spurs defence. (7/10)

Attack

Romelu Lukaku: Nice hold-up play here and there, but a quiet display. It was his header that hit Fazio's hand and should have resulted in a late penalty. (5/10)

Substitutes

Leon Osman: Replaced Mirallas but never really got into the game. (6/10)

Aiden McGeady: Like Osman, struggled to make an impact from the bench. (6/10)
