An Alejandro Faurlin own goal and a Jermain Defoe strike help Tottenham Hotspur come from behind to beat Queens Park Rangers at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur produced a superb second-half comeback to overcome Queens Park Rangers in an entertaining London derby at a rainy White Hart Lane.

The visitors, who lost Jose Bosingwa to a suspected hamstring injury after just two minutes, were deservedly ahead at half time courtesy of a Bobby Zamora strike.

The England international latched on to Alejandro Faurlin's neat reverse pass on 32 minutes, before cleverly lifting the ball over Brad Friedel from seven yards.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas brought Steven Caulker on for Gylfi Sigurdsson at the break, switching Jan Vertonghen to left-back and pushing Gareth Bale forward into his favoured position on the wing.

The change had the desired effect. Spurs levelled on 59 minutes when Bale's floated corner was nodded back across goal by Caulker and deflected in via the back of Faurlin.

Two minutes later, the turnaround was complete. Vertonghen drove forward 40 yards before slipping in Bale down the left. The Welshman was denied by Julio Cesar, but the the rebound fell kindly for Jermain Defoe to poke home from close range.

Spurs, who are now eighth in the Premier League table went close to extending their lead but Bale was twice thwarted by the impressive Cesar.
