Andros Townsend struck a later winner as Tottenham Hotspur emerged 3-2 winners in their pre-season friendly clash with Toronto FC.
Spurs started the match in lively fashion, taking the lead in the 15th minute after Erik Lamela latched onto Aaron Lennon's pass and slotted the ball home.
The Premier League outfit controlled the match in the first half, doubling their advantage six minutes before the break when Lamela combined with Roberto Soldado to rifle home his second of the game.
Both sides made extensive changes at half time, with only Spurs goalkeeper Brad Friedel retaining his place in the team, and it was an entirely different contest in the second period.
Toronto clawed a goal back in the 65th minute as Daniel Lovitz picked out Andrew Wiedeman with a through-ball, allowing the striker to slide one past Friedel to cut the deficit in half.
The Major League Soccer side found themselves on level terms in the 74th minute courtesy of an impressive Jordan Hamilton finish, but it was Spurs who had the final word.
Townsend smashed home their winner from the edge of the area with four minutes remaining following a swift counter-attack to atone for a glaring miss moments earlier and secure a win for his side.
