Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly held 'fruitful and interesting' talks with Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte over the possibility of succeeding Jose Mourinho at the North London club.

Spurs are on the lookout for a replacement for Mourinho, and a number of names have been linked with the position since the Portuguese was sacked on April 19.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Tottenham have now held discussions with Conte, and the 51-year-old is thought to be open to the idea of returning to the Premier League.

The Italian has led Inter to the 2020-21 Serie A title, but there are doubts over his long-term future at San Siro due to a strained relationship with the club's hierarchy.

The report claims that transfer funds could be limited due to the Italian team's financial problems, and the door has been left open for Conte to make the move back to England.

The former Italy boss managed Chelsea between 2016 and 2018, leading the Blues to one Premier League title and one FA Cup trophy during his time at Stamford Bridge.
