Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly be forced into paying Antonio Conte £15m if they decide to sack the Italian following his public outburst at the weekend.
Conte appeared to criticise both the players and the club in his post-match press conference after Spurs threw away a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Southampton on Saturday.
The manager also alluded to the club's lengthy wait with no silverware under the current ownership, asking whether there is a link between the two.
Conte is now the huge favourite to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job, but 90min claim that sacking him could cost Spurs as much as £15m.
The report says that if he is sacked mid-season, the club will be liable to pay the sum of his yearly salary due to a clause in his contract, and not just what is remaining on his deal.
After being sacked by Chelsea in 2019, Conte won a tribunal case over an unfair dismissal claim, costing the club £26.6m, and Spurs are keen to avoid a similar scenario.
The Spurs hierarchy are said to be deliberating over Conte's future and a decision is expected to be made this week. body check tags ::
