:Headline: Tottenham Hotspur expiring contracts: Who is free to leave this summer and next?:
Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham Hotspur's expiring contracts for this season and next.
Sports Mole

After a record-breaking start to the 2023-24 season under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham Hotspur's brief Premier League title bid ended in failure, as did their ambitions to return to the Champions League.

Another rebuild prior to the start of the 2024-25 campaign was inevitable, as Spurs welcomed Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odobert to the club, while severing ties with a plethora of troops.

The likes of Eric Dier, Ivan Perisic, Tanguy Ndombele and Ryan Sessegnon all left for nothing, but which other Lilywhites could walk out of the door for free in the not-so-distant future?

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at the Tottenham players whose contracts either expire at the end of June 2025, or in the summer of 2026.

Which Tottenham players are out of contract in the summer of 2025?

Son Heung-min

Age: 32
Position: Left winger
Transfer value: £38.5m
Joined: August 28, 2015
Joining fee: £25.7m
Tottenham appearances: 416
Tottenham goals: 165

Honours

  • Asian Games (1): 2019

  • Promoted to club captain for the 2023-24 season and excelling with the armband, Son Heung-min is expected to have his one-year extension triggered in the near future, but what his career holds for him beyond 2026 is unclear.

    Fraser Forster

    Age: 36
    Position: Goalkeeper
    Transfer value: £1m
    Joined: July 1, 2022
    Joining fee: Free
    Tottenham appearances: 23
    Tottenham clean sheets: 7

    Honours

  • Scottish Premiership (4): 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2019-20

  • Scottish Cup (3): 2010-11, 2012-13, 2019-20

  • Scottish League Cup (1): 2019-20

  • Retaining his status as Tottenham's number two in 2023-24, Fraser Forster may not have much time left in a Tottenham shirt, especially after Brandon Austin's recent contract extension.

    Ben Davies

    Age: 31
    Position: Left-back
    Transfer value: £8.4m
    Joined: July 23, 2014
    Joining fee: £10.8m
    Tottenham appearances: 335
    Tottenham goals: 9

    Honours

  • EFL Cup (1): 2012-13

  • The longest-serving player at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, experienced left-back Ben Davies also struggled for regular minutes in 2023-24, but his situation remains on the unclear side.

    Sergio Reguilon

    Age: 27
    Position: Left-back
    Transfer value: £10.3m
    Joined: September 19, 2020
    Joining fee: £25.7m
    Tottenham appearances: 67
    Tottenham goals: 2

    Honours

  • Club World Cup (1): 2018-19

  • Europa League (1): 2019-20

  • Following a pair of Premier League loan spells with Manchester United and Brentford, Sergio Reguilon is back in North London but seemingly has no future with Tottenham, who failed to find a buyer for the Spaniard in the summer of 2024.

    Alfie Whiteman

    Age: 26
    Position: Goalkeeper
    Transfer value: £427,000
    Joined: 2008
    Joining fee: Free
    Tottenham appearances: 1
    Tottenham clean sheets: 1

    Honours

    None

English goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman helps to fulfil Tottenham's home-grown quota, but he has only ever made one appearance for the Lilywhites and will seemingly have to move on next year if he wishes to enjoy regular game time elsewhere.

Which Tottenham players are out of contract in the summer of 2026?

    Rodrigo Bentancur

    Age: 27
    Position: Central midfielder
    Transfer value: £29.7m
    Joined: Jan 31, 2022
    Joining fee: £16.1m
    Tottenham appearances: 81
    Tottenham goals: 7

    Honours

  • Argentina Primera Division (2): 2015, 2017

  • Argentinian Cup (1): 2015

  • Almost three years into his Tottenham spell, Rodrigo Bentancur is yet to be rewarded with a new contract after his injury hell, and his situation is certainly one that will need looking at in the coming months.

    Yves Bissouma

    Age: 28
    Position: Central midfielder
    Transfer value: £29.7m
    Joined: Jul 1, 2022
    Joining fee: £24.8m
    Tottenham appearances: 65
    Tottenham goals: 2

    Honours

    None

After a dismal first campaign under Antonio Conte, Yves Bissouma played a more important role in the Tottenham XI during Postecoglou's debut season but is yet to do enough to warrant a contract extension.
