Tottenham Hotspur are said to be closing in on a cut-price permanent deal for Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at White Hart Lane and was consistently picked ahead of the likes of Jermain Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko.
According to Goal.com, City will sell the Togoese forward for around £5m, a figure said to be half of their initial asking price.
Adebayor's exit could free up funds at City to stage a big-money move for unsettled Arsenal frontman Robin van Persie.
