Bayern Munich are reportedly weighing up whether to submit a fourth bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, who has set a deadline for a deal to be agreed.

The Bavarians have been pursuing the England captain throughout the summer, but they have been unsuccessful in their attempts to agree a transfer.

After having their first two bids rejected, Bayern submitted an improved £87m offer, which included a number of add-ons.

Their proposal was subsequently rejected by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, who is holding out for £100m and wants the majority of the fee to be paid upfront.

Bayern's latest bid was initially believed to be their final offer, but they are not willing to give up their pursuit of the Tottenham striker.

According to The Telegraph, the German champions are considering whether to return to the negotiating table with a fourth bid.

Bayern are expected to make a decision relatively soon, with the Bavarians mindful that Tottenham will need time to line up potential replacements if the two clubs manage to reach an agreement over a deal for Kane.

The report claims that Kane would receive a significant pay rise if he moves to Bayern this summer, increasing his salary to £400,000 a week.

Kane has entered the final 12 months of his contract and has shown no desire to sign an extension with the North London club.

Bayern are determined to wrap up negotiations before their campaign gets underway on Saturday when they face RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup.

The striker is also keen for a quick resolution, with The Times reporting that he has set a deadline for the end of the week for a transfer to be agreed.

The 30-year-old is eager to join Thomas Tuchel's side, but has made it clear that he will not leave Tottenham once the new Premier League season gets underway this weekend.

Tottenham kick off their campaign with a home fixture against Brentford on Sunday, and Kane does not believe that it would be fair on the club's supporters, new head coach Ange Postecoglou or his family if he left the club after the start of the season.

If Bayern are unable to get a deal over the line, they may have to battle a whole host of clubs for his services as a free agent in 2024. body check tags ::
