Winger Steven Bergwijn has acknowledged that he may look to depart Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window.

Despite the highs of his dramatic late double against Leicester City in January, the Netherlands international has endured a frustrating campaign in North London.

In total, just eight of his 24 appearances have come from the starting lineup, and the 24-year-old has hinted that he does not expect the situation to change anytime soon.

As quoted by Algemeen Dagblad, Bergwijn said: "I don't get to play much at the club. I am happy that the national coach has called me up, that's not obvious [thing to do].

"You don't forget about football. But of course, you feel that you don't play that much. It was nice to be here again. We have a good and fun group.

"We'll see. Everyone wants to play of course. I have to keep my head up and work hard in training. Then we'll see what happens in the summer."

Bergwijn was speaking after scoring three times for his country in friendly internationals against Denmark and Germany. body check tags ::
