Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has expressed his belief that Hugo Lloris will extend his stay with the North London club.
The 35-year-old has held down his spot as Spurs' number one despite the arrival of Pierluigi Gollini, but his deal in the capital is set to expire at the end of the season.
Conte was previously coy over Lloris's future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but the Lilywhites boss now expects his skipper to put pen to paper on fresh terms.
When asked if he was confident over Lloris's chances of signing a new deal, Conte told reporters: "I think so. I think Hugo wants to stay in his club, he loves the club, he stays well in Tottenham. This could be his opinion. Hugo is a Tottenham player, he's the captain. For sure he will talk with the club to try to find a solution."
The former Lyon man has played every minute of Premier League football so far for Tottenham this term, keeping seven clean sheets in that time.
Lloris has registered a total of 133 shutouts in 392 appearances for the Lilywhites in all competitions, but he is still waiting for his first piece of silverware in North London. body check tags ::
