Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has asked manager Harry Redknapp for a loan move away from the club during the January transfer window, according to The People.
The 29-year-old is said to be fearing for his place in the England squad for Euro 2012 and is keen to secure some first-team starts.
Everton have reportedly contacted Spurs about the possibility of taking Defoe to Goodison Park on a temporary basis, while a number of other Premier League clubs are monitoring the situation.
Defoe found the net as Spurs won 3-1 at West Bromwich Albion yesterday afternoon.
