Everton have reportedly made an approach to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lewis Holtby.
It is believed that Toffees manager Roberto Martinez is in the market for an attack-minded midfield player to fill the void left by Ross Barkley, who has been ruled out for a number of weeks with a knee injury.
Holtby, 23, is not in Mauricio Pochettino's plans at White Hart Lane, which has alerted Martinez, according to The People.
The report added that talks between the two clubs regarding the three-capped Germany international have already taken place, with Everton keen on a season-long loan deal.
Speaking to the German press recently, Holtby conceded that he could leave Spurs before tomorrow's transfer deadline passes.
