Everton manager Roberto Martinez is keeping tabs on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele and may bid for the player in January, according to reports.
The Belgian international has struggled to cement a regular place in the Spurs starting lineup under new boss Mauricio Pochettino and The People claims that the Toffees have already made enquiries about the 27-year-old's availability.
Dembele saw first-team opportunities limited under the stewardship of Tim Sherwood last season and only made his first start of the season under Pochettino against Sunderland last weekend.
Even if the midfielder is not considered to be key member of the Spurs squad, it is unlikely that he will be allowed to leave for another Premier League club without the Lilywhites recouping much of the £15m that they paid to Fulham two years ago.
Dembele made 74 appearances for the Cottagers before moving to White Hart Lane in August 2012.
